Hi everyone! Today, I learned
about FUNGI and at the end of the class, we (Group 1) presented our
topic which is ALGAE. The most important thing is, today is Dr. Wan's
birthday! Hihi. We have planned it since Monday. Dr. Wan keeps
telling us “Where is everyone, where is everyone?!” Hahaha. Some
of us are waiting for the cake at the cafe (they are not late
actually, Dr hehe) according to the plan. After we ate the cake [the
pandan cake was extremely delicious, it is from King's], we ate nasi
lemak that Dr. Wan brought to us. Thank you Dr! :)
So, what is fungi? From this
topic, I found out that the morphology of spores are :
- Arthrospores
- Clamydospores
- Sporangiospores
- Conidiospores
- Blastospores
General characteristics of fungus
:
- Eucaryotic
- No chlorophyll
- Reproduce sexually and asexually
- Absorptive nutrition
- Spore-bearing organisms
Fungus live in high moisture
habitat and they have body or vegetative structure of fungus called
thallus. They are chemoorganoheterotrophs. Fungi divisions include :
- Zygomycota
- Ascomycota
- Basidiomycota
- Chytridiomycetes
- Deuteromycota
Fungus can act as human, animal
or plant pathogens but fungus also act as the agent of biodegradation
and bioremediation (they absorb pollutants into the fruiting body).
I would like to wish a special
and wonderful HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my beloved lecturer Dr. Wan aka
mummy. I wish you stay healthy and gorgeous. Have a blast Dr! :)
