Hello guys! For first year students that are taking microbiology course have to participate in the exhibition that are organized by our lecturer, Dr. Wan Zuhainis. Last tuesday, the exhibition was going so well! It was really memorable and fun! Actually this is my FIRST TIME joining this type of activity. Before this I just went to any exhibition, have a look, go around and thats it. Hahahaha. I have never got an experience in presenting to the judges in an exhibition. So for me, I found this activity was really good because it helps me a lot to be confident and gain new experiences.
My group members and I took the bus around 8.30am. We arrived at 9.15am. We entered the faculty nervously. We sat down. Looking around. Not many people are there. Dr. Wan have not arrived yet so we are waiting for her because we are not sure either the boards are ready to be used. We opened the wrapping paper of our poster. We already printed it yesterday (Monday). Then, TADAAA!!!!! THE POSTER IS NOT OURS!! Its about economy. And we are like... okay this is trouble. BIG PROBLEM instead. How we are going to present without poster?! I feel like crying. Then Dr. Wan arrived and said "People! What are you waiting for? Do your work faster!"
Then we told Dr. Wan about our poster. And she allowed us to go and get it back. Fuhh! Its quite far you know and we have to walk because there is no time to wait for the bus! After we get back our poster, we settle down our poster board. Taking half an hour to be done. Next we have to record a video about this project. Presentation. This project is about THANK A MICROBE. The objective is to differentiate microbial diversity, to describe the characteristic and roles of the microorganisms in the environment and industry and to organize related information from various sources.
The judges arrived at 2pm. The presentation session begins! Our judges are Dr. Jeff and Dr. Chin Chin. They are so nice! If we don't know something, they will explain it to us. Such a very good information from them~ The session ended by 4.15pm. Then we were like.. Yeayyyy! Its done! Finally! We have put big effort on this project and we are happy its going well like we planned. Alhamdulillah.
From this project, I learned that there are SO MANY microbes that are beneficial to human. They play an important roles and certain reactions to make us healthier . One of them is probiotics. They are just like an army. Protect us from pathogenic microorganisms.
Last but not least, I'm from Group 8. Our microbe is Lactobacillus plantarum but we called it Baby Planta & we can found it in cheese, yoghurt etc. I think thats all for this post. Bye! :*
